Quentin Tarantino explains why he won’t watch Denis Villeneuve’s DUNE

Quentin Tarantino he didn’t look at the director Denis Villeneuve’S Dune film and has no intention of doing so. While a guest on Bret Easton Ellis’ podcast, the director explained why he won’t watch the new film Dune movie, and one of the reasons involves the word “spice”.

“I saw [David Lynch’s] Dune a couple of times. I don’t need to revisit that story. I don’t need to see spice worms. I don’t need to see a movie that says the word spice so dramatically.”

Tarantino went on to reveal that he also hasn’t watched the film Shogun AND Ripley series that says, “There’s back-to-back of this remake and that remake. People are like, ‘Have you seen Dune?’ “Did you see?” Ripley?’ “Did you see?” Shogun?’ And I say, “No, no, no, no.”

“There are six or seven of them Ripley books. If you do one again, why are you doing the same thing they’ve already done twice?

“I’ve seen that story twice before, and I didn’t like it much in either version, so I’m not very interested in seeing it a third time. If I did another story, it would be interesting enough to try anyway.”

Tarantino continues: “I saw Shogun in the 80s. I watched all 13 hours. I am fine. I don’t need to revisit that story, I don’t care how they do it. I don’t care if they take me and put me in ancient Japan in a time machine. I don’t care, I saw the story.”

Truly? Wouldn’t he be interested in jumping into a time machine and watching events unfold for real!? It’s fun.

Tarantino is a funny guy.
