VOLTRON director Rawson Marshall Thurber says his film will introduce ‘a whole new generation of pilots’

A live action Voltron the movie is finally moving forward Rawson Marshall Thurber decided to direct the film. The film is currently in development and will begin filming in approximately six weeks in Australia Henry Cavill AND Daniel Quinn-Toye are set to Star.

Thurber recently talked about his Voltron film and teased his team’s plans for the film. After expressing his excitement at the opportunity to make the film, he said:

“I’ve loved Voltron since I was a boy and have wanted to make this movie since I was eight. I want to make sure we stay true to the heart and spirit of Voltron.

“In this film we will introduce a completely new generation of pilots. We’ve reinvented Voltron for the live-action world, but we’ll stay true to the heart and spirit of Voltron.”

He added, “It took forty years to get here, but I promise you it will be worth the wait.”

The director also offered a peek at one of the sound stages used Voltron. I just hope the director is able to actually pull it off. It should be a visually fantastic and epic film, but I also want to see a strong story.

The original Voltron: defender of the universe The series follows five young pilots in a battalion called the Robot Lions, who are vehicles that come together to form a mega robot known as Voltron.

Together they fight against Emperor Zarkon, the cruel leader of the Galra Empire, who has searched the universe for the Voltron lions for over 10,000 years.

It will be interesting to see how this new story following a generation of new drivers unfolds.
