Taika Waititi (Jojo Rabbit) is in talks to star in a family fantasy film titled FING!based on the best-selling children’s book by David Walliams.
The story follows librarians Mr. and Mrs. Meek, “who will do anything to keep their dear daughter, Myrtle, happy. But it’s not enough for Mirta who always wants more, more, MORE!
“When Myrtle declares that she wants a Fing, her parents have no choice but to track one down, taking them to the most remote and darkest corners of the jungle.
“Fing turns out to be just as destructive a monster as Myrtle, who in turn must clash with the evil owner of the wildlife park, The Viscount, who is determined to possess this rare creature.
The film will be directed by Jeffrey Walker (Young rock, modern family) from a screenplay written by Walliams and Kevin Cecil (Veep).
The rest of the cast includes Rafe Spall (Only Mercy), Walliams (Little Britain) and newcomer Iona Bell. Production will begin in Australia and the UK in early 2025.
