Marvel’s MOON KNIGHT director says there’s no talk of bringing character back, but ‘there could be a movie’

From Marvel Knight of the Moon it was a big, interesting change for the studio and received mixed reactions from fans. There were aspects of the series that I liked, but I thought it ultimately dropped the ball on the story.

Knight of the Moon director Mohamed Diab recently offered some insight into what’s going on with Moon Knight’s character, and as of now… nothing’s happening.

The director says there have been no negotiations about the Marvel character’s future, but he also thinks we haven’t seen the last of him.

During an interview with Deadline, Diab said: “You never know, with Marvel nothing is said to be finished. There could be a movie, or it could go into another universe.”

“There’s nothing in negotiations at the moment but definitely with Moon Knight, I would love to be involved in anything else and it could happen for sure. I have a great relationship with them.”

Now, I should point out that Marvel is developing a Midnight Suns project and Michele Gioacchinothe director behind Marvel’s horror special Werewolf at nighthe is said to be up for the role of director.

Moon Knight would definitely be part of it. Midnight Suns is Marvel’s answer to things that happen at night. They are supernatural superheroes who face supernatural threats.

The team’s roster has varied over the years but has included characters from the darkest corners of the Marvel Universe. With characters like Moon Knight, Doctor Strange, and the recent addition of Werewolf by Night and Man-Thing and the upcoming introduction of Blade into the MCU, the foundation has been laid for this supernatural team-up.

So if this is a project Marvel moves forward with, we’ll definitely see Moon Knight in action again. When previously asked which MCU project he would personally like to see Moon Knight appear in one day, Moon Knight star Oscar Isaac said:

“I thought there was an interesting opportunity with Midnight Suns. There are such interesting characters in there.

“Now that we’ve laid the foundation of finding out who Marc, Steven and Jake – minus – are, it could be an interesting opportunity to see him as part of a team and what that dynamic would be.

“I think it would be exciting. For me, I really hope there is room to explore this possibility.

If there’s any talk at Marvel about bringing back Moon Knight in some way, director Mohamed Diab is obviously not involved.
