Kelly MacDonald (Waterfront empire) was officially cast as the series regular opposite Kyle Chandler AND Aaron Pierre in the upcoming DC Studios series Lanterns.
Macdonald will take on the role of Sheriff Kerry, “a no-nonsense woman, deeply devoted to her family and her close-knit town. Her resilience, shaped by a complex past that strengthened her resolve, anchors her as the community’s secrets begin to emerge.
The series will focus on new recruit John Stewart and Lantern legend Hal Jordan, “two intergalactic cops caught up in a dark Earth mystery as they investigate a murder in the heartland of America.”
The project is developed by Ozarks‘S Chris Mundy, Guardians‘S Damon Lindelofand comic book writer Tom King.
When it comes to the eight-episode series, the co-presidents and co-CEOs of DC Studios James Gunn AND Pietro Safransaid: “John Stewart and Hal Jordan are two of DC’s most compelling characters, and Lanterns brings them to life in an original crime novel that is a key part of the unified DCU we launch next summer with Superman.”
Macdonald currently stars Damian Lewis in British horror comedy The Radleys and will soon be seen in the Netflix crime thriller series Department Q.
