Amazon MGM Studios has released the trailer for its inspiring biographical wrestling drama Unstoppablewhat stars Jennifer Lopez AND Jharrel Jerome. This really sounds like a great movie! I love uplifting sports dramas and can’t wait to watch this one!
Unstoppable tells the true story of Anthony Robles (Jerome) “who was born with one leg but whose indomitable spirit and unbreakable determination allowed him to defy the odds and pursue his dreams.
“With the unwavering love and support of his devoted mother Judy (Lopez) and the encouragement of his coaches, Anthony fights through adversity to earn a spot on the Arizona State Wrestling team.”
The film was directed by the Oscar winner Argon publisher William Goldenbergwho is making his directorial debut. He has also worked on films such as The imitation game, Zero Dark Thirty, Cookie AND The Insider. The film is also the protagonist Bobby Cannavale, Michele Pena AND Don Cheadle.
The film is based on the book Unstoppable: From Underdog to Undefeated: How I Became a Championand the screenplay was adapted from Eric Champnella, Alex Harris AND John Hindmann.
Robles, the subject of the story, is also in the film and is credited as “Anthony Robles Double”, performing wrestling moves and stunts. He is also a producer of the film.
The film will screen in select theaters on December 6, before arriving on Prime Video on January 16, 2025.
