Nick Offerman (Parks and recreation) joined the cast of the Apple TV+ series, Margo has money problemsbased on the book by Rufi Thorpe. Offerman joins previously announced cast members Elle Fanningfellow Emmy winner Nicole Kidmann AND Michelle Pfeiffer.
The eight-part series, set in the world of OnlyFans with a wrestling twist, comes from the prolific TV creator David E. Kelley and A24, with Fanning and Kidman also executive producing.
“Fanning plays Margo Millet, the daughter of a Hooters waitress (Pfeiffer) and a former professional wrestler (Offerman), who becomes pregnant after a brief affair with an English professor at the local junior college she attends.
“Now, at twenty, Margo is alone with a child, unemployed and on the verge of eviction. When her ex-father, Jinx (Offerman), shows up on her doorstep and asks to move in with her, she agrees in exchange for help with child care.
“Margo starts an OnlyFans as an experiment and soon finds herself adapting some of Jinx’s advice from the world of wrestling. Could this be the answer to all of Margo’s problems, or does internet fame come at too high a price?”
Kidman is believed to play Margo and her professor’s mediator.
Kelley is a writer and showrunner. He and Matthew Tinker executive produce for David E. Kelley Productions alongside Elle Fanning, Dakota Fanning and Brittany Kahan Ward for Lewellen Pictures; and Kidman and Per Saari from Blossom Films. Pfeiffer, author Thorpe and Eva Anderson also serve as executive producers.
Parks and recreation alumnus Offerman won an Emmy for his guest-starring role on HBO’s first season The last of us. He will also soon star in the Netflix limited series Death by lightning.
