GKids has released a new trailer for the acclaimed Japanese anime film The colors insidethat comes from the filmmaker Naoko Yamada (A silent voice AND Liz and the Bluebird).
This looks like a well-made vibrant anime that will tell a sweet and charming story.
The film centers on Totsuko, a high school student with the ability to see the “colors” of others. “Colors of bliss, excitement and serenity, plus a color she considers her favorite.
“Kimi, a classmate at her school, exudes the most beautiful color of all. Although she doesn’t play an instrument, Totsuko forms a band with Kimi and Rui, a quiet music lover they meet at a used bookstore in a remote corner of the city.
“As they practice in an ancient church on a remote island, music unites them, forming friendships and arousing affection. Will they discover their true “colors”?”
The film comes from animation studios SARU Scienceand the voice cast includes Takaishi, Sayu Suzukawa, Taisei KidoAND Yui Aragaki.
This film premiered at the 2024 Annecy Film Festival to rave reviews, and while it’s already released in Japan, it won’t be released in the United States until later this year. Enjoy the trailer!
