Ke Huy Quan is a real estate agent/assassin in the hilarious trailer for the action film LOVE HURTS

Oscar winner Ke Huy Quan (The Goonies, Everything everywhere and everything at once) returns to the big screen after winning the Oscar and appearing in Loki season 2. The trailer of its action movie has been released, Love hurtsin which he stars alongside his Oscar-winning colleague Ariana De Bose (History of the West Side).

The film is directed by a veteran stunt coordinator, fight coordinator and second unit director JoJo Eusebioin his directorial debut from a screenplay written by Luca Passmore, Josh Stoddard AND Matthew Murray.

In the film, Quan plays “an unlikely hero, a seemingly mild-mannered real estate agent with a dark secret.” Milwaukee real estate agent Marvin Gable is “thrown into a world of ruthless hitmen, full of double-crosses and open houses turned deadly war zones,” according to the synopsis.

The character’s brother, the “volatile crime lord”, Knuckles (played by Daniel Wu) forces Marvin to reunite with DeBose’s Rose to “face the choices that haunt him and the history he never truly buried,” he concludes.

Quan told People Magazine of the role:

“When I first read the script I was very confused. Even though I thought it was a good script, I thought it was written for someone else. In fact, I even said, ‘You guys should call Jason Statham, not me.’”

But I talk to Eusebio and the husband and wife production team David Leitch AND Kelly McCormickQuan “realized that what they were trying to create was a new kind of action star, not the one we’ve been used to over the past few decades,” he explains, adding:

“They wanted someone who had a broad reach, who wasn’t afraid to be vulnerable. And at the same time, he doesn’t seem like a badass until the situation calls for it. I always fantasized about being number one on the call list or putting myself in the protagonist’s shoes.

Quan added it Love hurts it is “the perfect film” to do so.

“I never thought that one day I would be the lead actor in a major studio film. So it’s an incredible feeling.”

I love Ke Huy Quan. He’s a really great actor and seems like a very nice and joyful person. I can’t wait to see Love hurts on the big screen. Check out the awesome trailer below and watch Love hurts in theaters February 7, 2025.
