Sean William Scott (American cake, Welcome to Flatch) has joined the cast of the ABC sitcom Gear change. She joins the previously announced stars Tim Allen (Home improvement) AND Kat Dennings (2 broke girls).
The series, which goes into production in November, stars Allen as Matt, the stubborn widowed owner of a classic car restoration shop. When Matt’s daughter Riley (Dennings) and her teenage children move into his house, the real restoration begins. Scott will play Gabriel, a family friend of Matt (Allen) and Riley (Dennings) who works in the store with Matt.
This is a newly created character who replaces Nick from the pilot. Originally played by Froy GutierrezNick, Matt’s son and Riley’s younger brother, a game programmer, will not be part of the series.
It’s also in the cast Daryl “Chill” Mitchell as Stitch, Maxwell Simkins like Carter and Barrett Margolis like Georgia.
Michelle Nader serves as showrunner. She succeeded Mike Scully AND Julie Thacker Scully who served as writers and executive producers on the pilot.
Nader, Allen, Marty Adelstein, Becky Clements, Richard Baker, Rick Messina and John Pasquin, who directed the pilot, serve as executive producers along with Jim Patterson, Bob Daily and John Amodeo. Dennings is a producer. The studio is 20th Television, a part of Disney Television Studios.
