Bruce Campbell he may have a bigger role to play in the MCU after his cameo Sam Raimiit’s 2022 Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
As you know, Campbell played Pizza Poppa, a food vendor on Earth-838. But the actor teased that he could have a bigger role in the MCU.
Speaking to Variety, Campbell said: “I play Pizza Poppa, but ask yourself: really? In the timeline? In the Marvel timeline, am I just a Pizza Poppa? Please don’t kid yourself.
“My contract is so big for that movie. Do you think I would sign such a big contract for that simple disposable character? What did I do in that movie? I delayed Doctor Strange. I didn’t defeat him, we didn’t fight. I delayed him from what? Did I just save Doctor Strange’s life?”
He added: “The world of Marvel is really just getting started and, once again, I can’t help but comment.”
Speaking previously about his cameo, Campbell said: “I’m not a pizza salesman, okay? It would be a serious mistake to think that I am just a pizza seller, an usher, an announcer or a maître d’.
“It’s called the multiverse, my friend. So yes, it’s the same character, but we don’t know who he really is. It has not yet been revealed. I just got off the phone with the guys at Marvel and we’re close to finding out.”
As a fan of Campbell, I would definitely like to see more from him in the MCU, but who knows what Marvel is planning!? Hopefully, Marvel has a plan for Campbell, and if they do, it’ll be interesting to see what that plan will be.
