Netflix has shared a clip from the upcoming animated series from Legendary Television and Crystal Dynamics Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft. The clip features Lara Croft and Jonah Maiava, a prominent character from the recent video game trilogy, in the midst of one of their explorations.
It seems like the series could be fun, but the more I see of it, the worse the animation seems. I know they’re trying to give this thing an entire anime movie, but that’s a pretty poor job.
Hayley Atwell (Captain America: The First Avenger, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One) stars in the series and provides the voice of Lara Croft.
The series is set after the events of the video game reboot trilogy. “Lara Croft, one of gaming’s most iconic adventurers, makes her anime debut in an all-new series.
“Picking up the events of the reboot trilogy of the hit Tomb Raider video game, the animated series will cover the globetrotting heroine’s latest, greatest adventure. Twenty-five years after the release of her first game, Lara continues to explore new territory.”
The anime was written and produced by Tasha Huo. Dmitri M. Johnson, Stephan Bugaj, Howard BlissAND Jacob Robinson will also oversee the series as producers.
The series will debut on Netflix on October 10.
