Kevin Costner he found a new film project to work on after his first two films Horizon: An American Saga Western epic. He is set to star in, co-write and produce the tropical surf thriller Headhunters.
In the film, Costner will play “an American expat with a mysterious past who ends up living in Bali, Indonesia.”
In the story, “It brings together a group of surfers led by a local photographer to find the perfect wave on an uncharted island, which ends up being the home of an ancient tribe of headhunters who protect their land at all costs “.
As someone who loves the ocean and surfing, I can’t wait to see how this project turns out. It will be directed by Steven Holleran, who is making his directorial debut. Daniele Zovatto (Station eleven) was also cast in the film.
Costner still plans to make the final two films of his epic Horizon, but he’s still trying to figure out how to accomplish it. Costner previously explained, “I don’t know how I’m going to do 3 right now, but I’m going to do it.”
Regardless, Headhunters looks like an interesting project for Costner and is a different type of film than what he’s made in recent years.
