Since it was announced that we would be getting another epic multiversal Avengers adventure in two films Russo Brothers which included a return of Robert Downey Jr. as the evil Doctor Doom, rumors are circulating and everyone is wondering who will be involved. This includes speculation from members of the MCU as well.
During a recent interview, Benedict Wongwho played the character Wong in the Doctor Strange films, as well as the Avengers’ Last Tentacles battle, expressed to Comic Book Movie (via SuperHeroHype) his hopes for Wong’s future.
When asked about his possible involvement in the next two Avengers films, Wong said:
“Hey, well, look, I totally agree. I’m ready! With Wong, he was promoted to Sorcerer Supreme, so it’s all in the hands of the Marvel Universe to see where we end up. Yes, I can’t wait.”
Wong’s character, who shares his name, was titled Sorcerer Supreme following the events of Avengers: Infinity War. He deservedly replaced Doctor Stephen Strange after the latter was unexpectedly killed in the nick of time. Despite Strange’s subsequent return, Wong has retained his new role and is expected to keep it Avengers: Judgment Day.
Another future MCU project that is expected to include Benedict Wong is the unconfirmed one Doctor Strange 3. According to recent reports, Sam Raimi is currently in the running to return to helm the third film. But we are still waiting for official confirmation from Marvel Studios.
Avengers: Judgment Day it is currently scheduled to hit theaters in May 2026.
