Max has confirmed that his adult-themed animated series is inspired by Scooby-Doo Velma has been cancelled. The news comes after artist Davey Cummings shared in a now-deleted Instagram post: “There won’t be a season three, but I hope to work with these amazing and talented people again one day.”
Max released a statement, saying, “For the past two seasons, Mindy [Kaling] and Charlie [Grandy] they’ve created an incredibly fun and fresh world within the iconic whodunit franchise.
“While we won’t be moving forward with another season of the series, we thank them for their gripping coming-of-age narrative, unparalleled clues and hilarious hijinks.”
I think it’s safe to say that we won’t miss the series.
Velma told the origin story of Velma Dinkley, the unsung and underrated mastermind of the Scooby-Doo Mystery Inc. gang. The comedic aspect of the series fell completely flat. There was really nothing funny about it.
