SHINOBI, the classic SEGA game, will receive a film adaptation

The classic SEGA video game franchise Shinobi is getting a film adaptation at Universal Pictures Sam Hargrave (Extraction) set to direct.

When I was a kid I loved playing the original side-scrolling game. In the game, players take on the role of Joe Musashi, a master ninja on a mission to rescue kidnapped children from the evil crime syndicate known as “Zeed”.

The game combines stealth and combat as Musashi battles waves of enemies using a combination of shuriken, swords, and powerful ninjutsu techniques.

Each stage of the game is divided into different levels and I remember how difficult it was to play as it requires precision and timing to successfully navigate each area.

The film was written by Ken Kobayashi (Sunshine, go ahead), and I’m really excited that the game is getting a film adaptation. If done right, it could be really badass!

There’s a good chance this movie could be great with the director of the Extraction movies on board because they were a great couple of movies!
