Community star Yvette Nicole Brown recently offered an update on Dan Harmon’S Community: the film. The project has been in development for a while, but there is a script, the cast has read it and now it’s being reworked.
During an interview with The Wrap, Brown said, “I think it’s being reworked, but we’ve all read the entire script. So there is a script. I heard that in Los Angeles we have the big credit that gives you the money to make the film. So we’ll definitely do it in Los Angeles.
She went on to talk about her involvement in the film, saying, “For a minute, I wasn’t confirmed, so now they have to change some things, because I’m confirmed, and now they can change some things for Shirley’s character like GOOD. So it’s really going to be, it will be a nice time.
“We’re right now trying to put all the puzzle pieces of everyone’s program together. We planned to do it, and then the strike happened. And now it’s like trying to figure out when their show will end?
“When will so-and-so’s movie end? When so-and-so is off tour? We’re trying to put all these things together now, but it will happen. We’re going to make the movie and we’re all on board to do it.”
Speaking about the changes, Brown said, “It will most likely change,” noting that the script is “really funny, it’s very irreverent, it’s silly,” but Harmon and Guest are “always thinking and moving and incorporating things.”
Donald Glover previously revealed that the film centers on “a college reunion.” Abed Nadir, former film student at Greendale Community College, played by Danny Pudinow he’s “this great director” and the Peacock movie we’ll be watching is “his magnum opus.”
Peacock has officially announced the Community film in 2022, enlisting the show’s creator, Dan Harmon AND Andrea Guest to write the screenplay.
