Netflix has released a great new trailer for the historical drama Joybased on the pioneers who created the IVF process in 1978, IVF, aka the first test tube baby, Louise Joy Brown.
The film is the protagonist Thomasin McKenzie, James NortonAND Bill Nighyand is directed by Ben Taylor (Chevrolet, The Circuit, Our ex-wife, Raised by wolves), from a screenplay written by Rachele Massone AND Jack Thorne.
The synopsis reads: “Three British pioneers, one vision.” Joy tells the extraordinary true story behind the revolutionary birth of Louise Joy Brown in 1978, the world’s first “test tube baby”, and the tireless 10-year journey to make it possible.
“Told from the point of view of Jean Purdy, a young nurse and embryologist, who joined forces with scientist Robert Edwards and surgeon Patrick Steptoe to solve the puzzle of infertility by pioneering in vitro fertilization (IVF).
“The film celebrates the power of perseverance and the wonders of science as it follows this trio of visionaries who overcame enormous odds and opposition to realize their dream, and in doing so allowed millions of people to dream with them.
It looks like this movie will be a really interesting story, delving into the details that explain this historic moment in the turning point of helping people reproduce.
