The master of horror, Stephen Kingrecently offered high praise for a new dark thriller coming to Shudder titled The Jenny Pen Rule.

King wrote on X: “I watched one of the best movies I’ve seen this year. It’s called THE RULE OF JENNY PEN, and I urge you to watch it when it appears on Shudder. Geoffrey Rush stars, with John Lithgow as a geriatric psychopath with an evil puppet.”
The Rule of Jenny Pen is an adaptation of a short story by Owen Marshall and was directed by James Ashcroft, from a screenplay he wrote with Eli Kent.
In the film, “Confined to an isolated retirement home and trapped in his stroke-stricken body, a former judge must stop an elderly psychopath who employs a child’s puppet to abuse the home’s residents with deadly consequences.”
The film premiered at this year’s Fantastic Fest and is expected to hit Shudder in 2025.
I love when King recommends things to watch because he’s usually spot on with the kind of stories I like. I can’t wait to watch it!
