Mexican actress Susana González will share the screen with her daughter Susana Elías for the first time in TelevisaUnivision's upcoming telenovela Todavía Te Amo.
The new drama, created under the leadership of television producer Carlos Bardasano, is scheduled to premiere during the first months of 2027 across both Mexico and the United States.
The production marks the official television acting debut for teenage Susana Elías. Entertainment news publication People en Español reported that this project will be the first time mother and daughter work together inside a recording studio. González explained that she wants her daughter to establish her own career path and learn to manage herself professionally without relying on her mother's presence.
TelevisaUnivision has officially included both mother and daughter in the confirmed cast roster for Todavía Te Amo. The series features a high-profile ensemble including actors Scarlet Gruber, Brandon Peniche, Samadhi Zendejas, Gabriel Soto, Azela Robinson and Felicia Mercado, alongside other performers.
Three decades of television performance
Susana Alejandra González del Río was born on October 2, 1973, in Zacatecas, Mexico. Zacatecas, located in the north-central region of the country, is historic for its colonial architecture and silver mining heritage. Now 52 years old, González has spent 30 years building a prominent career as one of the most recognizable figures in Mexican telenovelas.
Her career in television began three decades ago following her participation in 1993 in the Chica TV beauty pageant, featured on the iconic weekend variety show Siempre en Domingo. After entering modeling, she enrolled in Televisa's Centro de Educación Artística, the premier performing arts school in Mexico City responsible for training major Latin American television personalities. She made her formal telenovela debut in 1996 in Sentimientos Ajenos.
Following her debut, González quickly established a continuous presence on Mexican television screens. Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, she appeared in a steady series of popular dramas, including María Isabel, Preciosa, El Privilegio de Amar, Amor Gitano, Mujeres Engañadas and the hit youth-oriented serial Amigas y Rivales.

Her major career milestone as a leading actress arrived when she landed the starring role of Ana Cristina Robles in the melodrama Entre el Amor y el Odio, acting opposite Venezuelan-Cuban actor César Évora. In 2007, González took on the period romance Pasión, sharing the screen with leading actors Fernando Colunga and Sebastián Rulli. Over the years, she broadened her acting range by portraying complex antagonists, notably delivering one of the most remembered villain performances of her television career in La Que No Podía Amar, while also starring in Los Exitosos Pérez and Para Volver a Amar.
