THE Harley Quinn The animated series became a favorite show among fans and its popularity led to a spin-off series titled The Kite Man: Oh, yeah!which also turned out to be an incredibly entertaining show.
While we wait to see if Kite man will be renewed for a second season, it looks like we could see more spin-offs produced.
During a recent interview with ComicBook about his work on both shows, executive producer Dean Lorey teased, “We’re excited about where we’re at right now with what we’re calling the ‘Harleyverse.’
“It’s very exciting to have more projects coming out that we’ve been working on. I mean, Kite Man was a big step for us, to be able to put that out. I know a lot of people were wondering why we would choose Kite Man as the first character to come out, because there are a lot of characters.
“And we talked about a lot of things, but we thought he was a fun, easy person to start with. Plus, he has a huge potential redemption arc for himself. And so we thought let’s do it.
“We have a lot more that we’re really hoping to get out there, things that are pretty much in development. We really want to build out the universe, and we’ve had a lot of support from James Gunn and Peter Safran, and Warner Brothers Animation is really behind it. So we’re really excited to build out that world.”
“I wish I could [say more]. In fact, I am desperate. But I can’t. I hope to hear from at least one of them relatively soon. Believe me, no one wants to talk about it more than me.”
It will be interesting to see what other spin-off projects they will be, but I imagine they will be just as fun and crazy as the first two shows.
