Michelle Pfeiffer has joined the cast of the Apple TV+ limited series, Margo has financial problemsin which he will star alongside Elle Fanning AND Nicole Kidman.
The story is based on By Rufi Thorpe novel, and is directed by the prolific television creator David E. Kelleymarking his first collaboration with his wife of 31 years, Pfeiffer, and A24. Both Fanning and Kidman also serve as executive producers.
The eight-part series, set in the world of OnlyFans with a wrestling twist, landed on Apple TV+ with a straight-to-series order earlier this year.
“Fanning plays Margo Millet, the daughter of a Hooters waitress (Pfeiffer) and a former professional wrestler, who always knew she had to make it on her own. So she enrolls in the local community college, even though she can’t imagine how she’ll ever make a living.
“She’s still figuring things out and never planned on having a relationship with her English teacher, and even though the relationship is short, it’s not short enough to keep her from getting pregnant. Despite everyone’s advice, she decides to keep the baby, mostly out of naivety and a desire for something bigger.
“Now, at twenty, Margo is alone with a newborn baby, unemployed and facing eviction. She needs a cash injection, fast. When her estranged father, Jinx, shows up on her doorstep and asks her to move in with him, she agrees in exchange for help with childcare.
Then Margo begins to hatch a plan: she’ll start an OnlyFans as an experiment, and soon she’ll find herself adapting some of Jinx’s advice from the wrestling world. Could this be the answer to all of Margo’s problems, or is internet fame too expensive?”
Pfeiffer will play Shyanne, the mother of Margo (Fanning), who has worked at Bloomingdales for the past 15 years, following her six years at Hooters. Kidman is believed to play Margo and her professor’s go-between.
This book is on my to-read list. It looks like an interesting story and the cast is great, so I can’t wait to see this series. Stay tuned for updates as the series progresses.
