A sequel to the fantastic horror comedy film Ready or Not It was announced several months ago and Samara Weaving is ready to reprise her role in the film, with Adam Robitel (Escape Room, Insidious: The Last Key) entering the game.
There have been no updates on the project since it was announced, but Weaving recently offered an update and confirmed that she is “fully involved.”
During an interview with CB, the actress said: “I’m all in. I think we’re all in, I don’t know. I think we’re all in. I don’t know if we shook hands with blood, but kind of. We shook hands with spit, but we didn’t cut our hands and we didn’t rub blood together.”
As for the project’s timeline, Weaving joked, “I just got home, I have to make some phone calls.”
As for what the sequel will entail, Weaving said, “I wonder what happens next. Does he go to prison? Does he go to a mental institution for psychiatric care? Does he inherit everything? I don’t know.
“Or the police would say she did it on purpose. I don’t know… Sitting in a prison cell for 90 minutes, just going crazy.”
The original film was directed by Radio Silence – Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett – who have been very busy since the first film became a huge success.
Weaving plays Grace Le Domas in the franchise, and the first film is a fun and gripping horror comedy that blends dark humor with suspenseful horror elements. The story centers on Grace, a young bride who marries into the wealthy but eccentric Le Domas family.
On her wedding night, she discovers a macabre tradition within the family: each new member must participate in a random game as an initiation ritual. Unfortunately for Grace, she draws “Hide and Seek,” which she soon discovers is a deadly version in which she must hide while the family hunts her down, intent on killing her before dawn as part of a mysterious pact they believe they must uphold in order to maintain their wealth and status.
What follows is a night of intense survival, as Grace fights ferociously, uncovering her family’s dark secrets and transforming from a frightened bride into a fierce survivor.
