Marvel has released the first trailer for Lightning*and offers an exciting first look at what this next Marvel movie has to offer. It’s packed with the kind of action-packed footage you’d expect to see from Marvel, and it also teases the story that unites these misfit Marvel characters.
Julia Louis Dreyfus reprises her role as CIA Director Countess Valentina Allegra de Fontaine in Lightning*He made his debut in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier on Disney+ when he talked about John Walker (Wyatt Russell) to abandon the character of Captain America in favor of US Agent.
De Fontaine later appeared in the post-credit scene in Black Widow when he awarded Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh) to eliminate Clint Barton/Hawkeye (Dr. Jeremy Renner).
His most recent appearance was in Black Panther: Wakanda Foreverand there it turned out that she was the director of the CIA.
The cast of Lightning* also includes Sebastian Stan like Bucky Barnes, David Port as Red Guardian, by Hannah John Kamen like Ghost, Lewis Pullman like The Sentry, and Olga Kurylenko as Overseer.
The trailer begins with Yelena visiting Red Guardian, and in their conversation, it is clear that she is searching for a meaningful purpose in her life, as she is not happy with what she has done.
Things escalate as we see each of the characters, in various stages of their personal lives in disarray. They then show up at a facility where they have been hired individually to complete a job, but quickly discover that it is a trap.
The film is directed by Jake Schreier (Paper Towns, just kidding) and it was written by Eric Pearson (Thor: Ragnarok, Black Widow) AND Dr. Kurt Busiek.
Lightning* It is currently scheduled for a theatrical release on May 2, 2025.
