Netflix has offered a first look at the second season of Famous people’S The Sandman in the form of a behind-the-scenes sneak peek. It features cast and creatives talking about the series and showing footage from the set as they filmed the show.
The stars of the series My Friend Tom Sturridge as I dream and Ruairi O’Connor like Orpheus son of Dream, “The poet, musician and oracle is the only son of Dream and the muse, Calliope. Orpheus is an idealistic and romantic young man, and very much his father’s son, until tragedy strikes and reveals to him the true nature of love.”
The series also includes Freddie Fox like Loki, Clive Russell like Odin, Laurence O’Fuarain like Thor, Anna Skelly like Nuala, Douglas Cabin like Cluracán and Mr. Jack Gleeson like Puck.
All of these characters were introduced in the “Season of Mists” story arc by The Sandman graphic novels.
Then there is India Moorewho will play Wanda and Steve Coogan will provide the voice of the dog Barnabas. These two characters first appeared in the “Brief Lives” storyline of the comics.
Previously announced cast members include Esme Creed Miles like Delirium, Adrian Lester like Destiny and Barry Sloane like “The Prodigal”.
These characters play an important role in the “Season of Mists” and “Brief Lives” storylines. They are the remaining members of “The Endless” family that Dream is a part of, and will join the returning brothers from Season 1, Death (Chirby), Wish (Mason Alexander Park), Despair (Donna Preston) and Dream.
Other returning cast members include Patton Oswalt like Matthew the Crow, Vivienne Achempong like Lucienne, Gwendoline Christie like Lucifer Morningstar, actress like Johanna Constantine, Ferdinand Kingsley like Hob Gadling, Stephen Fried like Gilbert, Asim Chaudhry like Abel, My friend Sanjeev Bhaskar like Cain, Vanesu Samunyai like Rose Walker, and Razane Jammal like Lyta Hall.
In the series: “There is another world waiting for all of us when we close our eyes and sleep: a place called Dreaming, where the Sandman, Master of Dreams, gives shape to all our deepest fears and fantasies.
“But when Dream is unexpectedly captured and held prisoner for a century, his absence triggers a series of events that will forever change both the dream and waking worlds.
“To restore order, Dream must travel across worlds and timelines to right the wrongs he’s made over the course of his vast existence, revisiting old friends and enemies and encountering new entities, both cosmic and human, along the way.”
The Sandman series was created by Netflix and is developed by Gaiman, showrunner Allan Heinberg AND Dr. David S. Goyer.
The second season will arrive in 2025.
