Last year, the director James Gunn gave fans a wonderful send-off with the latest film in his series Guardians of the Galaxy film trilogy before moving from Marvel director to head of DC Studios, where he is developing Supermanas well as many other projects under the DC umbrella.
It seemed like the Guardians’ final adventure, although the post-credits scenes suggested that the door wasn’t entirely closed for some characters at some point.
Chris Prattwho plays the character of Star-Lord, aka Peter Quill, was asked by IGN during a recent Garfield press conference if he would ever return to play his Guardians hero, and Pratt replied that he “certainly” would, but on one condition.
He explained: “It’s hard to imagine what it would be like, so I guess it would have to be on a case-by-case basis. Obviously I would be open to it. I love the character. It changed my life.
“If it came along and it made sense and I felt like it was a story worth telling, then I would certainly, certainly be open to it. I love playing Star-Lord. If it came along and it made sense and I felt like it was a story worth telling, then I would certainly be open to it.
“But it would be hard to do without James, and you’d have to find a device that could maintain the tone that he so skillfully creates, and that’s quite difficult because he’s so unique. And it would have to be with his blessing, so we’ll see.”
For now, both Pratt and Gunn have plenty of projects in the works. And who knows, maybe Pratt could make an appearance in Gunn’s DCU, and they’ll reunite at Marvel someday? Only time will tell.
