Taika Waititi’s TIME BANDITS Cancelled After One Season on Apple TV+

Apple TV+ has cancelled its Time Bandits series after just one season, and I’m not surprised. The series, which was created by Taika Waititi, Jemaine ClementAND Italian:it was a scam.

The series is based on Terry Gilliam1981 sci-fi fantasy adventure classic, which was one of my favorite movies as a kid. This series has failed to even begin to capture the magic or spirit of that original film. It makes me wonder if any of the creators were actually fans of the original film,

Morris has previously spoken about the film, saying: “I think Time Bandits It’s actually kind of a lost classic. You tell a lot of people about it and they’ve never heard of it, but you meet other people and it’s their favorite movie.

“But they’re pretty rare. So if you take these brilliant ideas that people have and these brilliant worlds, and you expand them and change them and introduce them to a new audience, I think that’s great. Some of the best songs ever made are covers.”

And this creative team ruined those “brilliant ideas”, and the series is definitely not a good cover of the original film. Clement, Morris and Waititi wrote and directed select episodes of Time Bandits Season 1.

Lisa Kudrow The series stars a group of thieves and their new recruit, an 11-year-old boy named Kevin (Kal-El Tuck), leaping through time and space to plunder riches.

The cast also included Dr. Tadhg Murphy, Roger Jean Nsengiyumva, My life is beautiful, Rune Temte, Rachel’s House, Kiera Thompson, James D’Amico, Felicity Ward, Francesca Mills AND Imam Hadith.

It’s a shame the show ended here. Time Bandits show could and should have been incredibly awesome! There was no reason why this show couldn’t be brilliant, but this creative team was clearly not right for the material.
