Lionsgate has released a trailer for the upcoming film Little things like thiswhich has as protagonists Cillian Murphy AND Emily Watson.
The film is based on Claire Keegan’s best-selling novel of the same name and Murphy is said to give a stunning performance.
The film is set in 1985 and Murphy plays the devout Father Bill Furlong, and “as he works as a coal merchant to support his family, he uncovers disturbing secrets held by the local convent – and uncovers personal truths – that force him to confront his past and the complicit silence of a small Irish town controlled by the Catholic Church.”
Murphy previously spoke about the project, saying: “I am honored and thrilled to have the opportunity to bring Claire Keegan’s magnificent novel to the screen.
“We’ve assembled a phenomenal team of creatives to make this film and found exceptional partners in AE, a studio led by Matt Damon AND Ben Affleck — actors and directors I have admired for many years.”
Tim Honey directed the film and it was produced by Ben Affleck AND Matt Damon.
The film will be released on November 8th.
