It was another great year for Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights! My daughter and I attended the opening night event this year, and it’s always a fun and awesome way to kick off the Halloween season!
We visited all the event’s mazes, shot some video footage, and have compiled a ranking for you, in case you’re wondering what they’re offering this year.
I have listed the haunted houses from best to worst.
Universal Monsters: Eternal Bloodlines:
A haunted house run by all-female monsters, inspired by classic Universal Pictures monsters and featuring music by Slash.
Fans meet Saskia Van Helsing, a fearless new huntress and daughter of the revered Abraham Van Helsing, who killed Count Dracula by driving a stake through his heart, destroying his reign of terror. Saskia now faces Dracula’s daughter, Countess Marya, who has risen from the dead to seek revenge for her father and destroy the Van Helsing bloodline.
With a mission to accomplish, Dracula’s Daughter, from the 1936 film Dracula’s Daughter, forms a deadly alliance with the She-Wolf, inspired by the 1946 film The She-Wolf of London, and Anck-Su-Namun, from the 1932 film The Mummy, only to be intercepted by Saskia and an unlikely ally, the Bride of Frankenstein.
This terrifying adventure will take guests on a journey between hunters and prey, in a fight to the death where only one lineage will survive.
Deadly Exposure: Death Valley:
An original concept house with petrifying radioactive zombies.
Enter a top-secret government facility where an experiment to create super soldiers has gone horribly wrong, turning people into radioactive zombies. And they escape just as you arrive!
You’ll travel through a secret government facility where officials are creating super soldiers. Unfortunately, everything goes haywire as soon as you arrive. And you’ll soon discover that instead of super soldiers, the facility has (accidentally) created an army of radioactive zombies. Good luck escaping!
Insidious: The Further:
Based on the latest films in the hit supernatural horror series from Blumhouse Productions in association with Sony Pictures.
Don’t get trapped in The Further as terrifying demons try to trap you. Enter the Red-Faced Demon’s lair behind The Red Door. And try to stay away from KeyFace, so he can’t imprison your spirit.
Monstruos 2: The Nightmares of Latin America:
Sequel to the 2023 hit haunted house movie.
Resist the hell knight El Charro or he will take your soul. Don’t turn your back on the devil dog El Cadejo or you will be lost forever. And you better behave or the bogeyman El Cucuy will get you.
In “Monstruos 2: The Nightmares of Latin America,” El Muerte returns to guide you through a graveyard of mythical monsters, including the soul-stealing knight, El Charro; the supernatural dog-like spirit El Cadejo, who roams the quiet streets at night looking for prey; and the child-eating bogeyman, El Cucuy.
The Weeknd: Nightmare Trilogy:
An immersive experience curated by the award-winning artist.
The Weeknd returns to a new haunted house powered by After Hours, Dawn FM and a terrifying new tale. Get caught up in iconic moments inspired by his music videos and live performances.
Offering fans an authentic and one-of-a-kind horror experience, with surprises around every corner and music by The Weeknd, scored by seven-time Grammy®-winning producer, artist and producer Mike Dean.
Don’t open that door:
The Legacy of Leatherface: Pays homage to the 50th anniversary of the iconic maniacal monster.
The haunted house will launch an all-new storyline celebrating the 50th anniversary of the original 1974 slasher film. Set in an abandoned slaughterhouse, guests will encounter numerous iterations of Leatherface from all nine films in the series, dodging his relentless chainsaw at every turn.
Tram of Terror: Enter the Blumhouse:
A terrifying experience that brings fans up close and personal with characters from Blumhouse Productions’ popular franchises, including M3GAN, The Black Phone, Freaky, The Purge and Happy Death Day 2.
Universal Studios Hollywood’s signature Terror Tram is back with a vengeance. In “Terror Tram: Enter the Blumhouse,” horror fans will journey to the Universal Studios backlot and encounter some of the scariest characters from Blumhouse’s most popular franchises, including M3GAN, The Black Phone, Freaky, The Purge and Happy Death Day.
A quiet place:
A terrifying new experience based on Paramount Pictures’ critically acclaimed franchise, incorporating American Sign Language (ASL) into a haunted house for the first time.
Silence your screams if you want to survive the terrifying post-apocalyptic world. As the Abbott family, you must stay silent as you travel from the farm to the woods to the foundry. As soon as you make a sound, monstrous creatures that can hear the slightest noise will hunt you down and silence you forever.
Ghostbusters: The Frozen Empire:
Inspired by the latest installment in Sony Pictures’ Ghostbusters series.
A chilling new specter, Garraka, has escaped from an ancient artifact. He will stop you dead in your tracks with an entire army of ghosts. Try not to freeze in fear as you dodge ice spears and he freezes people before your eyes. The Ghostbusters must team up to save the world from a second Ice Age.
They also have some fun scare zones at the park, including Luchadores Monstruosos; Skull Lordz, a scare zone featuring a royal gothic-inspired court of the dead; Chainsaw Punkz, a troop of chainsaw-wielding killers will confront guests as they enter the event; and Murder of Crowz, a flock of menacing stilt-walkers of crows will terrorize guests. They were all fun!
