First Look at Another Mickey Mouse Horror Film: MOUSEBOAT MASSACRE

We have our first look at another one of those Mickey Mouse horror movies in the making, and this one is called Mouseboat Massacre.

The film is inspired by Walt Disney’s classic 1928 animated short The Steamboat Williewhich is now officially in the public domain. Because of this, several horror filmmakers have stepped in to reimagine the iconic rat as a slasher maniac, and all of their films look awful.

The film comes from the director Andrea M. Catinellawhich says: “Mouseboat Massacre paints a terrifying and disturbing picture. A slasher horror film that takes a beloved childhood icon and turns it into something nightmarish.

“The juxtaposition of something so innocent with a dark, psychotic edge is a brilliant way to tap into deep fears and nostalgia gone wrong.”

I wouldn’t go so far as to call it “brilliant” because it’s really a tired horror movie cliche. This is just Mickey Mouse.

The story follows “a young woman battling drug addiction who suddenly begins to see a mutated human-mouse hybrid infesting her life. Those around her begin to drop like flies.”

The director continues by saying: “With Mouseboat Massacrethe most beloved childhood character becomes an endless nightmare. This film is a psychotic journey in which the audience will not have a moment to catch their breath.

“Imagine Pennywise wearing the most famous mouse mask, wreaking havoc in an atmosphere filled with disturbing and unsettling tension. After watching Mouseboat Massacrethose iconic ears will never be the same again. The goal is to make sure that what once brought comfort now haunts your dreams.”

When I first read it, I rolled my eyes and laughed because it was so ridiculous.

Anyway, the movie stars Jay Robertson, Kathi DeCouto, Atlanta Moreno, Lauren Leppard, Victor RiosAND Natasha Tosini star in the next Mouseboat Massacreand will be distributed by ITN Studios.
