Terrifier Franchise Director Damian Leone He says he was approached by a major film studio to relaunch his horror franchise for a wider audience, but was not interested in doing so.
In an interview with Total Film, the director explained: “They wanted to repurpose it for a wider audience. That wasn’t what I was interested in. They were like, ‘It has to be rated R, it can’t be as gory as you did it.'”
Well, that’s kind of the point of the franchise, the insane amounts of blood and gore, doing something that the studios don’t want you to do. That’s what makes the Terrifying franchising so punk rock. It goes against the grain.
Leone continued, “I knew they would never let me shoot the first 10 minutes of what I wanted to do. [in Terrifier 3]. So I thought, ‘Let’s stay true to what this franchise is.’
The upcoming third film is said to be the craziest yet, with scenes that even infuriated actor Art the Clown Dr. David Howard Thornton almost like vomiting.
Leone said of the studio that contacted him: “They were so curious to know what I was doing with so little money.”
It’s hilarious! These big studios have no idea how to make a great movie on a low budget anymore. They don’t need to spend hundreds of millions of dollars on their movies! They can make great movies with great stories for so little if they wanted to, but they don’t know how.
In Terrifying 3Art the Clown is on a mission to brutally kill during the Christmas season. It looks like another grotesque Terrifier movie for fans who crave a lot of blood in their movies.
Leone promised that the next chapter will be the bloodiest film in the saga.
This next chapter of the story is set five years after the events of Terrifying 2. The art of the clown (Dr. David Howard Thornton) is set to unleash further mayhem on the unsuspecting residents of Miles County as they drift off to sleep peacefully on Christmas Eve.
The returning cast includes Lauren LaVera (Siena), Samantha Scaffidi (Victoria Heyes), Elliot Fullam (Jonathan Shaw) and the AEW superstar Chris Jericho (Burke), with Daniel Roebuck ready to debut as Santa Claus.
Legend of the effects of makeup Tom Savini, Jason Patrick, Antonella Rose, Krissy Fox, My Friend HowardAND Jon Abraham they also appear.
Terrifying 3 will be released exclusively in theaters nationwide on October 11, 2024.
