Casting for Amazon’s Live-Action Film Adaptation MGM Studios and Mattel Films The Masters of the Universe continues with the addition of Alison Brie (Community) who plays the role of the villain Evil-Lyn.
Joins the previous cast Camilla Mendes (Riverdale), who is supposed to play Teela and Nicolas Galitzinewhich will talk about the role of He-Man.
Evil-Lyn is a witch with formidable magical abilities, and is one of the most trusted and powerful allies of He-Man’s arch-nemesis, Skeletor. It will certainly be interesting to see Brie in this role.
Although I am a fan of Travis Knightt as a director, I really hope he knows what he’s doing with this casting because I’m not really sure. But we’ll see. Maybe it will all make sense when we see the actors in their roles.
Knight, who previously directed films such as Bumblebee AND Kubo and the Two Stringsis directing from a script written by Chris Butler. David Callaham AND Aaron AND Adam Denies worked on the initial draft.
In The Masters of the Universe“10-year-old Prince Adam, who crash-landed on Earth in a spaceship and was separated from his magical Sword of Power, his only connection to his home on Eternia.
“After tracking him down nearly two decades later, Prince Adam is catapulted into space to defend his home planet from Skeletor’s evil forces.
“But to defeat such a powerful villain, Prince Adam must first uncover the mysteries of his past and become He-Man: the most powerful man in the Universe!”
I would love nothing more than for Knight to make a He-Man epic, but the story and cast worry me. I hope Knight proves me wrong.
The Masters of the Universe is produced by Escape Artists and Mattel Films and will be released exclusively in theaters worldwide on June 5, 2026.
