ONE TREE HILL: Sequel Series In Development On Netflix

Netflix has announced that it will bring back the gang from A tree hill for a sequel series. It has been reported that the stars of the original series Sophia Bush, Ilaria BurtonAND Daneel Ackles are the executive producers of the reboot.

Ackles will executive produce under her Chaos Machine label alongside her husband, Jensen Ackles. by Becky Hartman Edwards (Firefly Lane, Parenting) is attached to write and executive produce. Warner Bros. Television, which produced the original series, will also produce the sequel.

Bush and Burton will reprise their roles from the series, with Ackles also in talks to return. It is not yet known if other stars from the original series will return at this time.

The original A tree hill It ran for nine seasons on The WB and later on The CW. The cast also included Chad Michael Murray, James Lafferty, Bethany Joy Lenz, Paul Johansson AND Leah Norris.

The series is set in the fictional town of Tree Hill, North Carolina, and originally focuses on the rivalry between half-brothers Lucas (Murray) and Nathan (Lafferty).

As their lives began to intertwine and their passion for basketball brought them together, the show became a story of friendships, relationships and family drama.

Burton played Peyton Sawyer while Bush played Brooke Davis. Ackles played the character of Rachel Gatina. Bush, Burton and Lenz previously co-hosted the A tree hill About the podcast Drama Queens.

However, Burton left the podcast after season six as his character was no longer a part of the show. Robert Buckleywho joined A tree hill in season 7, he is now the third host.

Mark Schwahn is the original creator of A tree hillbut is not involved in the sequel. In 2017, Schwahn was publicly accused of assault and harassment by Burton and a number of cast and crew members during their time on the series. The group spoke at length about the alleged abuse on their podcast.
