A trailer has been released for the unconventional and dark romantic comedy, And the ladystarring Bea Aisling, Colin Hanks AND Billie Lourdas well as Susanna Wokoma, My HarrietAND Elizabeth McGovern.
The story follows a woman who finds herself reeling after the sudden death of her boyfriend, and must decide how to move forward. The film is directed by Daniel Reisinger in his feature film directorial debut, from a screenplay written by Melissa Bubnic.
The synopsis reads:
“A hilarious and heartfelt comedy-drama about Gemma, a woman living in London whose American fiancé, Nathan, dies shortly before their wedding day. Having never believed in modern marriage, his death makes Gemma reconsider the promise of a life spent together.
When, encouraged by Nathan’s chaotic and unconventional sister Audrey, she decides to go ahead with the wedding, she must overcome public opinion, the law of the land and even the objections of her own family to finally have the right to say “I do.”
It looks like a very sweet and heartfelt film, with a new twist on the genre. And the lady will be released in UK cinemas on September 2, with no US release date yet.
