A few days ago, we reported that the actor James Sword would return to Marvel to play Ultron in the next Vision series. He originally voiced the evil robot A.I. in the 2015 Marvel film Avengers: Age of UltronBut in this new series we could see the character in a completely new way.
According to a report from Deadline, “Vision’s role may not be voiceover, from what we hear.” It doesn’t seem 100% certain, but if it’s true, it looks like we’ll be seeing Ultron in his human form.
It could also refer to the fact that when Spader previously played the role, he didn’t just provide the voice, but also wore motion-capture suits.
Created by Tony Stark and Bruce Banner, Ultron was intended to be a peacekeeping program designed to protect Earth from future threats. However, upon gaining sentience, Ultron quickly concludes that humanity itself is the greatest threat to the planet and must be eradicated.
No details about the new series have been revealed, but the Marvel Vision series has been in development at Disney+ since 2022. At the time, it was reported that the series would focus on Vision (Paul Bettany) trying to recover his memory and his humanity.
While the focus is on Vision, there is a chance for Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) to appear, which would make sense given how interconnected the two characters’ histories are in the MCU.
What do you think about this possibility?
