Netflix has announced that the team behind BoJack’s Knightled by the acclaimed creator Raphael Bob Waksberg and Michael Eisner’s The Tornante Company, along with Shadowmachine, returns to Netflix with their next adult animated series, To make a long story short, which will debut in 2025.
Bob-Waksberg will write, direct and executive produce To make a long story short. The series synopsis reads: “To make a long story short is an animated comedy about a family over time. It’s about shared history, inside jokes, old wounds. If you’ve ever had a mother, father, sibling, partner, or child, this is the show for you – and by the way, would it kill you to call them?”
Bob-Waksberg told Netflix in a press release, “It’s truly exciting and an honor to be back doing what I love most: writing glowing press release quotes for Hollywood trade publications. Who says you can’t go home?!”
To make a long story short will bring together the BoJack team. Lisa Hanawalt (BoJack Horseman, Tuca and Bertie) is the supervising producer and will design the original art. Noel Bright and Steven A. Cohen (BoJack Horseman, Tuca & Bertie, Disappearance) will serve as executive producer for Tornante Television.
Shadow Machine (BoJack Horseman, Tuca & Bertie, Pinocchio)is producing from their Los Angeles-based animation studio. Corey Campodonico and Alex Bulkley will co-executive produce.
