1960-1969, James Cameron, 1969-1970, 1969-1971, 1969-1972, 1969-1973, 1969-1974, 1969-1975, 1969-1976, 1969-1977, 1969-1979 , 19 announced the official title for Avatar 3 at D23 recently and the one titled is Avatar: Fire and AshThe director has now explained the hidden meaning behind that title.
During a recent interview with Collider, Cameron revealed Fire and ashes addresses the themes of “hate, anger, violence” and “pain”.
He said: “It took me a long time to find a title that I felt was in tune with what’s in the film. I don’t think I can say much about it until you actually see the film and understand what it means, but if you think of fire as hate, anger, violence, that kind of thing, and ash is the aftermath.
“So what’s the consequence? Pain, loss, right? And then what does it cause in the future? More violence, more anger, more hatred. It’s a vicious cycle. So that’s the reasoning.”
Cameron had also previously teased the third film’s fire element and revealed that two new cultures would be introduced, saying, “Fire has a symbolic purpose in the film and there’s a culture that specifically revolves around that concept. That’s probably giving too much away as we speak.”
Cameron previously talked a bit about the depiction of fire in Avatar 3saying: “To show different cultures than the ones I have already shown. The fire will be represented by the ‘People of Ash’.
“I want to reveal the Na’vi from a different angle because, so far, I’ve only shown their positive sides. In the first films, there are very negative human examples and very positive Na’vi examples. In Avatar 3, we’ll have the opposite.”
The director revealed that two more new cultures will be introduced in the next film, stating: “In the next film, you will encounter two completely new cultures.
“We’ve met the Omaticaya, we’ve met the Metkayina, and in the next film you’ll meet two new cultures, who will move a little more freely in the world of Pandora, in different places.”
Cameron said at the D23 event: “It’s so gratifying to feel all this love for the world of Pandora and these characters that my team has been working on for over 18 years.
“I can’t wait to show you what we’ve been working on. Avatar 3. Every day when I see new shots, it’s like Christmas morning. The characters are so alive and everything seems so real.
“As you would expect, it’s a crazy adventure, but it also has higher emotional stakes than ever before. We’re entering some really challenging territory for all the characters you know and love.
“There are new characters, especially one that we think you’re going to love, or love to hate. You’re going to see a lot more of Pandora, the planet you’ve never seen before.”
The movie stars Zoe Saldana, Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, Stefano LangaCliff Curtis, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Edie Falco, Jemaine ClementAND actress.
