Here’s a poster for the upcoming R-rated horror film Bambi, Bambi: The Reckoningthat comes from the team behind Winnie The Pooh: Blood and Honey.
The film follows “Xana (Roxanne McKee) and his son Benji (Tom Mulheron) who find themselves involved in a car accident and soon hunted by the ferocious killing machine, Bambi.”
Director Dan Allen (Upset) has previously spoken about the film, saying: “It’s going to be terrifying. When people see a deer in the wild after this film, they’ll run for the hills. This film is about the death of childhood as much as it’s about ruining childhood. Expect bloodshed, tears and rabbits… and one nasty killer deer. At last, the British countryside will finally have its Godzilla.”
The film will be executive produced by Dr. Rhys Frake Waterfield AND Scott Jeffreywho said: “The film will be an incredibly dark reimagining of the 1928 story we all know and love. Drawing inspiration from the design used in Netflix’s The RitualBambi will be a ferocious killing machine that lurks in the wilderness. Prepare for Bambi with rage!”
The film is part of a “distorted children’s universe” called Poohniverse, which will also include the previously announced films Peter Pan’s Nightmare in Neverland AND Pinocchio Untied and introduce new characters like Sleeping Beauty, The Mad HatterAND Rabbit from Winnie-The-Pooh: Blood and Honey.
All these characters will come together in Poohniverse: Monsters Gather in 2025, when monsters join forces to take over the world.
Bambi: The Reckoning It’s coming out in the fall of 2024 and it’s going to be another ridiculous movie.
