Apple TV+ has announced that its hit sci-fi thriller series Dark matter hero Joel Edgerton AND Jennifer Connellyhas been renewed for a second season.
I just finished watching the first season and it was really good! I didn’t know what to expect when I started watching it, but that series took me on a crazy journey through the multiverse!
The series is based on the book by author Blake Crouch and tells a story about the road not taken. “The series follows Jason Dessen (Edgerton), a physicist, professor and family man who, while walking home one night on the streets of Chicago, is kidnapped into an alternate version of his life.
“Wonder quickly turns to nightmare as he tries to return to his reality amidst the shocking panorama of lives he might have lived. In this labyrinth of reality, he embarks on a harrowing journey to return to his real family and save them from the most terrifying and unbeatable enemy imaginable: himself.”
Showrunner and writer Blake Crouch said in a statement: “Thank you to everyone who tuned in for season one, book fans and new fans alike, and of course to our partners at Apple and Sony, my amazing producing partner, Matt Tolmach, our amazing cast and crew, and the amazing city of Chicago—you’ve been so good to us.
“In the process of writing and filming the first season, we found that there is so much more to tell, and we have only scratched the surface of these characters as they struggle to survive and find their way home through a landscape of unsettling realities. See you in the Box!”
Executive producer Matt Tolmach added: “Making ‘Dark Matter’ has been a long-time dream of mine, and I’m so proud to see Blake’s vision come to life and connect with so many people.
