Kate Siegel (The Fall of the House of Usher) is currently in production as executive producer and star of Damned if you doa black comedy that marks the directorial debut of Jake Rubin AND Evan Metzold.
Written by Ellen Adair AND Eric Gildeand produced by Objectively Good Media, the film follows a group of teenage friends who have sold their souls to the devil. Naturally, life deals them different paths: a rock star, a tech mogul, and a high-profile activist. Years later, they must rely on an old classmate to help them escape Hell’s grip before their 25th high school reunion contract expires.
In a joint statement to Deadline, Rubin and Metzold said, “We feel incredibly fortunate to be working with such a talented and hilarious cast. They make our job easier and bring a wealth of experience to the table that helped elevate an already spectacular script. Between our incredible cast and crew, we have assembled an amazing team that truly feels like a family, and we are thrilled to collaborate with this group on our debut feature.”
The couple added that they “feel very lucky to be working on such a damn great production with such a damn good cast and crew. It’s almost like we’ve sold our souls.”
Siegel is best known for his appearances in acclaimed horror series such as Netflix’s The Fall of the House of Usher, Midnight Mass, The Haunting of Hill House AND The Nightmare of Bly Manoralong with films like Eye AND Silencethe latter of which she also co-wrote. The actress will next be seen acting alongside Tom Hiddleston In by Mike Flanagan Adaptation by Stephen King Chuck’s Lifewhich will have its world premiere at TIFF. He also recently made his directorial debut with the seventh installment of the Shudder series V/H/S/Beyondwhich will debut on the horror streamer on October 4.
