Netflix Renews Guy Ritchie’s THE GENTLEMEN For Season 2

Netflix has renewed Ritchie Boydetective series of The gentlemen for season 2. Season 1 was a lot of fun, so it’s great to see the story continue for another season.

Theo James, Kaya Scodelario AND Daniel Eng. have agreed to reprise their roles for the second eight-episode installment of the hit series.

Ritchie, who actually earned an Emmy nomination for his directing work on the first season, will return to direct and is also writing the series with Matthew Read.

Set in the world of Ritchie’s 2019 Miramax film of the same name, the series’ first season centers on Eddie Horniman (James) who unexpectedly inherits his father’s sizable country estate, only to later discover that it is part of a cannabis empire.

Plus, a slew of shady individuals from the British underworld want a piece of the operation. Determined to free his family from their clutches, Eddie tries to play the gangsters at their own game.

However, as he gets sucked into the world of crime, he begins to enjoy it, with an unexpected ally in the sophisticated but ruthless Susie Glass (Scodelario).

When previously there was talk of the possibility of The gentlemen Season 2, James said: “It wasn’t really discussed. I think it would have been a bickering process with all of us and Guy.

“But I also think with a show like this, if you want to do more, you have to find a really interesting concept for season two. Because as much as we loved it and as much as it was fun, it needs a narrative push.”

Filming for the second season is expected to begin next year.
