I’m really curious about Nicola’s Cagethe next live-action of Spider Noir series. This whole thing seems like a very different and wild project, and now Fargo AND New girl star Lamorne Morris he’s saying it’s going to be crazy.
Morris is set to play Robbie Robertson in the series and during a recent interview with CB, he teased what we can expect, saying: “Well, I can’t say too much. I’m sworn to secrecy.
“But I will say that it’s going to be an experience unlike anything you’ve ever seen on television. What they’re doing is insane. It’s really insane, and I’m just grateful to have the opportunity to bring this version of Robbie Robertson to life.
“For those of you who know me, you can assume there’s a little bit of Lamorne in there, which is why they gave me the job. Like I said, I can’t give too much away, but I think the fans are going to be really happy with what they see.”
The actor previously spoke about his excitement at joining the project, saying: “Playing a character in a world that’s not necessarily real, alongside veteran actors who can teach you a thing or two, that you might learn on set while performing.
“When you grow up with comics and even animation, you want to be a part of that world, and this brings those worlds together. It’s comics, it’s live-action, it’s Nick Cage, Dr Brendan GleesonSo, being part of that group is definitely something you should do before you die.”
When the series was first announced, we learned that it would follow an “aging, down-on-his-luck private investigator (Cage) in 1930s New York City, forced to confront his past life as the city’s only superhero.”
It was also reported that Spider-Noir will not be Peter Parker, but Ben Reilly. “Amazon Prime is ready to put a new spin on the Spider-Man saga with its next show. Breaking with tradition, this series will star Nicolas Cage as Ben Reilly, instead of the iconic Peter Parker.”
A new synopsis was later shared which reveals that Spider Noir will have to face Silvio Manfredi, known as Silvermane, and Yuri Watanabe, known as Wraith.
The synopsis reads: “We follow Ben Reilly, a private investigator, as he stumbles down the rabbit hole of corruption in 1933 New York City, while uncovering his past as a superhero.
“Reilly investigates the death of Edward Addison, which leads him to discover that the mayor is up to no good involving crime boss Silvermane and femme fatale Yuri Watanabe.”
Spider Noir It is developed by Oren Uziel AND Steve Lightfootwho will also serve as co-showrunners and executive producers. They developed the series with the Inside the Spider-Man Universe team of Mr. Phil, Christopher MillerAND Amy Pascalall three will also serve as executive producers.
Harry Bradbeer will be executive producer and director of the first two episodes.
