by Holt McCallany (The Iron Claw, Mindhunter) is set to star in a new Netflix family drama series titled The seafrontwhich is written and executive produced by the creator of Cry, Kevin Williamson.
The series is inspired by true events and the story “dives into the imperfect Buckley family as their attempts to maintain control of their crumbling North Carolina fishing empire forces them to resort to increasingly dangerous means to stay afloat.”
McCallany will play the role of patriarch Harlan Buckley, “who created the Buckley fishing business with his father, even running afoul of illegal activities in the 1980s.
“Since his two heart attacks, Harlan hasn’t changed his lifestyle, but his absence from the family business has left it in the hands of his wife Vicki and son Cane, whose desperate and reckless decisions have left Harlan with no choice but to take over the reins of the company.
“Is Harlan a hero? A villain? It’s a tough call. He’s just a man who loves his whiskey.”
This looks like another great project for Holt McCallany. He’s a great actor, and it’s great to see him get another lead role in a series.
