Netflix has released a teaser trailer for a new original anime series titled Sakamoto Dayswhich follows legendary former hitman Taro Sakamoto as he joins forces with his comrades to face the looming assassin threat and secure a peaceful life with his beloved family.
The series is an adaptation of the anime and manga, written and illustrated by Yuto Suzuki. It tells the story of the ultimate assassin, who is “feared by the bad guys and admired by other hitmen.
“One day he falls in love AND out of shape, preoccupied with marriage, retirement, and fatherhood. But he’s still armed with superhuman strength and abilities, and in extreme situations he sheds his excess weight and gains twice the power he had before.”
When Sakamoto meets Aoi, the convenience store clerk, “it’s love at first sight” and, suddenly, he retires.
“Sakamoto gets married, has a daughter, opens a family-run shop in a quiet town, and completely transforms himself… into a curvy man.
“To secure a peaceful life with his beloved family, the legendary former hitman joins forces with his comrades to face the looming threat of assassins.”
Suzuki said in a statement: “I want to express my gratitude to the fans, whose support has made this possible. I hope you will continue to join me in building SAKAMOTO DAYS! Enjoy the show!”
The Netflix anime Sakamoto Days which is scheduled for release in January 2025. Sounds like fun!
