A 24-year-old Canadian has filed a class-action lawsuit against a social network he has been using for nine years. He wants to stop watching funny videos at night.
According to the man, when he started using social networks, his productivity decreased and he developed a negative perception of his own appearance. The lawyer behind the case claims that these applications are designed to increase dopamine and make users addicted.
According to CTV, the man began battling a “bad habit” by limiting his social media use to just two hours a day. But he says the apps are still taking a toll on his condition.
The fate of the claim is not yet known, as the application was only sent to the judge for consideration. However, the lawyer representing the interests of the “victims” is demanding compensation for moral damage.
