Gina Gershon Says She Almost Broke Tom Cruise’s Nose While Filming Love Scene in COCKTAIL

Cruise’s co-star in the film, Gina Gershonappeared on the talk show Watch what happens liveand host Andy Cohen asked her if she had ever bonded with Tom Cruise. She said that Cruise was newly married when they shot the film, and that his wife was very present on the set at the time. Gershon also recalled that while filming her first ever sex scene, she almost broke Cruise’s nose. She explained:

“He was a gentleman. He starts under the covers and I told him I was very ticklish. I was like, ‘No, no, don’t ever do that.’ In one take, I think he wanted a reaction, and he grabbed my stomach and I kneed him right in the nose. I was like, ‘Oh my god! I just broke Tom Cruise’s nose.’ He was like, ‘No, you told me… It’s my fault.’ He was so protective of me.”

Fortunately, he was fine and learned not to surprise Gershon again if he wanted to get out of the scene unscathed. In the film, Cruise plays a business student who becomes a bartender to make ends meet.
