Ryan Reynolds Shares Tribute to Jon Favreau After His Cameos in DEADPOOL and WOLVERINE

My name is Ryan Reynolds. took time to thank many of the actors he worked with on the Marvel series Deadpool and Wolverineand this last tribute goes to the actor and director Mr. Jon Favreau.

Favreau has a small cameo role in Deadpool and Wolverinebut this is the man who effectively launched the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Iron Man in 2008, something Reynolds was keen to point out in the tribute he wrote.

Reynolds shared, “Jon Favreau didn’t jump into #DeadpoolAndWolverine just for a quick one-night stand as Happy Hogan. He gave us the 360-degree view of an innovator, a founding forefather of Marvel, and an ace storyteller.

“And if I have his number right, he is WILDLY uncomfortable with everything I write in this post. But fuck it, I got what I needed from him, so he’ll drink the medicine.

One of the many things I love about playing Deadpool is that he’s a fan. Like me. Deadpool LOVES Marvel. So, working with Jon, one of the original creatives who built an empire, was somehow BETTER than sitting with one of my heroes.

“And it’s almost better than being cradled in Thor’s mighty arms while he sobs like a motherless baby who lost his pacifier in a house fire.

“Jon is one of the greats. Yes, the film benefited from his incredible performance, but we got something more important: his generosity of time and energy to talk about stories and brainstorm larger themes and ideas.

“I would drop everything to introduce myself to this guy anytime, anywhere. Thank you, @jonfavreau.”

It would be awesome to see Favreau team up with Reynolds for another film project someday. I guess it all depends on whether Favreau ever takes a break from Star Wars to do something else!
