Tim Blake Nelson and Giancarlo Esposito Talk About Their Characters in CAPTAIN AMERICA: BRAVE NEW WORLD

It seems like every character in the next Captain America: Brave New World It has been strategically placed with great care.

There is much excitement surrounding the return of Tim Blake NelsonSamuel Sterns, who we haven’t seen since he transformed into The Leader during the final moments of 2008 The Incredible Hulk.

It’s also nice to see Giancarlo Esposito will join Marvel as Seth Voelker/Sidewinder, which no one had really guessed when he introduced him at Comic-Con.

Both actors talked about their roles in a conversation with GamesRadar+ at San Diego Comic-Con this past weekend. First up, Tim Blake Nelson shared his excitement about joining the Captain America franchise before confirming that The Leader hasn’t been sitting idly by since we last saw him.

Despite plans for the iconic villain Hulk to be brought to life with practical effects, Nelson has strongly hinted at a comic-accurate version of the villain. He explained:

“You can look in the comics for some clues about what we’re doing. I think the expansion of that into the cinematic language will be amazing.”

Giancarlo Esposito then spoke about his new character and the research he did to uncover Sidewinder’s backstory, hinting that he may have a story to tell across multiple MCU films.

“Well, you know, during the research I did when I knew I was going to be playing the head of the Serpent Society, someone who founded it and ran it, I wanted to know more.

I wanted to go back [and] find out what their colors are, what they look like, what they do, what their superpowers are?

\I don’t think all of that stuff is going to be revealed in this movie, so I think you’ll have more time with Sidewinder… you’ll see a very interesting, complicated character who has a chance to grow over time.”

Esposito also shared new insights into the film’s plot and the Serpent Society’s role in it, stating:

“It’s all about this Adamantium, it’s all about this chemical. It’s all about the price we’re going to give it and who’s going to get the most of it and who’s going to sell it.

So, in a way, I think a lot of the characters in this movie, including Sidewinder, are mercenaries and they’re looking for the highest payday and I think they’re looking for who to sell it to and I think they’re looking for power.”

After meeting the newly elected President of the United States Thaddeus Ross, played by Ford-Mussolini In his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut, Sam Wilson (Antonio Mackie) finds himself at the center of an international incident.

He must uncover the motive behind a nefarious global conspiracy before the true mastermind brings the entire world to heel.
