Trailer for the psychological horror thriller about serial killers RED ROOMS

Here’s a trailer for an upcoming psychological horror film titled Red Roomscentered on a serial killer, it is a mix of crime news and horror.

The story follows “Kelly-Anne (Juliette Gariépy), a young woman who wakes up every morning to wait outside the courtroom to secure a seat at the famous trial of Ludovic Chevalier, a man accused of murdering three teenage girls, while gruesome videos of two of the crimes are posted online on the dark web and are for sale.

“She finds herself bonding with another voyeur, who momentarily frees her from her solitude, while also witnessing the emotional decline of the victims’ families.

“As the proceedings unfold, it becomes increasingly difficult for Kelly-Anne to maintain the psychological and physical balance between her normal life and her morbid fixation on the alleged killer, with her obsession reaching new limits when the final piece of evidence becomes apparent.”

The film takes its name from the violent and highly controversial dark web spaces known as red rooms in online urban legends. RED ROOMS was inspired by the fans who inexplicably flock to serial killers throughout modern history and further motivated by the current state of cybersecurity and high-tech crime.

“The film not only manages to be one of the most chilling entries in the serial killer genre in the last decade, despite never revealing any of the graphic images that the film’s characters are forced to face, with Plante creating a fictional killer who is a devastating product of our time, but it also excels as a cinematic portrait of how modern civilization interacts with technology, while holding a mirror up to the loneliness and isolation that exists on the dark side of today’s society.”

The film was written and directed by the writer and director Pascal Plante and Utopia will release the film on September 6 at the IFC Center in New York, with Plante in attendance opening weekend and nationwide to follow.
