Here’s a clip from Watchmen: Chapter I which is introduced by My life is niceand sees Dr. Manhattan hold himself accountable for his past, while Silk Spectre and Nite-Owl end up arguing in an alley.
This clip premiered at Comic-Con this weekend, but you can watch it here now. Sackhoff plays the younger version of Silk Spectre in the film.
The film is practically a shot-for-shot adaptation of the iconic Alan Moore AND Dave Gibbons graphic novel.
It is a computer-animated film that is said to represent a “leap forward for our DC Cinematic Animation” and the footage shown at the Annecy Film Festival was described as “very vibrant”.
In the film, “In an alternate history set in 1985, the government-sponsored murder of a superhero brings his fellow outlaws out of retirement into a mystery that threatens to upend their personal lives and the world itself.”
Watchmen Chapter I cast includes Matthew Ricci (Night Owl), Katee Sackhoff (Silk Spectre), Titus Welliver (Rorschach Test), Troy the Baker (Ozymandias), Michael Cerveris (Dr. Manhattan), and by Rick D. Wasserman (The comedian).
Supporting players include Adrienne Barbeau (Sally Jupiter/Silk Spectre), My Friend Corey Burton (Captain Metropolis), Jeffrey’s Combs (Moloch), John Marshall Jones (Hooded Justice), Yuri Lowenthal (Wally Weaver), by Geoff Pierson (Night Owl), and Kari Wahlgren (Written by Jane Slater)
Grey DeLisle, Kelly Hu, Max Koch, Phil LaMarr, Dr. Dwight SchultzAND Jason Spisak they were also cast in undisclosed roles.
The film is produced and directed by Brandon Vietti from an adaptation of J. Michael Straczynski. Jim Krieg AND Cindy Rag they are producers and Dave Gibbons is a consulting producer. Sign up Sam, Larry Gordon AND Mr. Lloyd Levin are executive producers.
Watchmen Chapter I will debut on digital on August 13, with the 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray release following on August 27.
